U.S. Army Air Forces ground crewmen adjust fins on 500-pound bombs preparatory to loading them on U.S. Consolidated B-24 "Liberator" bombers at an Allied air base in Australia. The long range B-24 "Liberators" have taken a heavy toll of Japanese merchant shipping and blasted enemy island bases in the Southwest Pacific area.
