Top Left: When the American forces stormed into the Holtz Bay Area, over a hundred Japanese soldiers were found dead in the barracks and around the area. This picture shows a Japanese soldier who although wounded had fought to the end. Attention is called to the blood soaked bandages across the chest and shoulder. Then the main Jap forces withdrew from the area and left many wounded in the barracks. Top Right: Headquarters is established at the beach.
