Brigade General M.C. Woodbury, commander of the 8th Fighter Wing, pins the Distinguished Service Cross on Captain Joseph Myers. Myers, a P-38 "Lightning" pilot, won the award for extraordinary heroism in action over Germany on November 13, 1943, when he safely escorted home two crippled fighters and a crippled bomber in the face of repeated enemy attack.
